Did you always want to be an author? When I was younger, yes. I loved traveling to other countries, and reading let me do just that. I wanted to be a lawyer, but after working in the legal field, I realized it wasn’t for me.
What is your most recent book, and what inspired you to write it? After COVID, I went through a deep depression. Trying to find a therapist was hard. I had one who kept canceling, and the next one did too. Something in me clicked. I knew if I stayed stuck in sadness, I’d never get out. So, I started doing things that brought me joy.

I discovered DIY crafting on YouTube and started creating my own. That creative spark lit something in me. I also began listening to KLove music. It touched me deeply, reminding me that I’m not alone.
The divine is always around, and we only need to look for God. This message stays with me.
Then I saw a video about publishing books on Amazon, and without overthinking it, I opened my laptop and started writing. I was inspired by my angels and spirit guides. I felt something was missing from my life, and through meditation and crafting, I heard a voice telling me to write. I began getting visions, and it all made sense. My first book, Gratitude with Grace: Finding Happiness, was written for women who may not realize they are in relationships that dim their light.
I realized I had the power to say no, and I wanted to help other women feel that same freedom.
That journey led me to write Cleansing Rituals: A Step-by-Step Guide because I saw a need to discuss spiritual cleansing and smudging. The same incense you see in church can also be used at home. It’s no longer taboo. Last year, I translated it into Spanish as Rituales de Limpieza: Guía Paso a Paso. I am now excited to share that my debut urban fantasy novel, The Whimsical Gifts of Emma, will be released later this year through Oliver Heber Books.
How do you hope your books uplift those who read them? Through the body, mind, and spirit. For a long time, psychics were considered fakes or labeled as witches. Think Salem Witch Trials. But we are in a new era. People are awakening their intuition and becoming more open to energy meditation and holistic living. Manifesting was not even in the mainstream vocabulary a few years ago. Now people are realizing that when they meditate, they feel peace. When they use sage to cleanse, they feel a sense of lightness. That is what I want people to feel good vibrations, or as I call them, good vibes.
What are you most excited about with this book? I’m thrilled about my debut novel, The Whimsical Gifts of Emma, coming out this September. It’s a fourth-wall-breaking urban fantasy with a twist. If you love the idea of a mash-up, in this case, The Good Witch meets Deadpool and Clarissa Explains It All, you’ll be spellbound by this enchanting story full of slow-burn romance, magic, and mystery.
Anything else you would like to share with your readers? Yes, your words have power. Every time you speak, you are putting energy into motion. That is why it is so important to stop saying I am not worthy or that nothing ever works out for me. When you say those things, you attract more of the same. Shift your mindset. Speak life into yourself and others. Positive words raise your vibration and call in better energy.
I also host the Anita Inspires Podcast, inspiring you to be better, and run the Anita Inspires merch store on Fourthwall, where I sell inspiring quote stickers, tees, and more.
