Beach Wedding

Want a book that has it all? How about an awesome suspense read, packed with a heaping helping of in-demand genres: family conflict, legal thrills, crime fiction, a cold case murder, and of course, a killer on the loose. These are just a few of the elements that make Beach Wedding by Michael Ledwidge a perfect addition to your summer reading list. And if this review doesn’t do it justice, the cover teaser will:

“Hampton’s sand…Hampton’s wedding…Hampton’s murder.

Philadelphia cop, Terry O’Rourke, is awestruck when he brings his wife and young daughter out to the Hamptons for his older brother Tom’s wedding. Not only did his Wall Street sibling’s success make the family proud, but Tom rented the most magnificent house on the water for his wedding venue and an O’Rourke summer getaway.

But the home is not only an opulent historic mansion, but it borders the home of the woman responsible for their father’s death. This haunting trauma is especially loathsome since she walked away from her crimes unscathed. But now that Terry’s back in the Hamptons, he’ll stop at nothing to restore his father’s reputation and bring the killer to justice.

I’ve intentionally been brief with my synopsis, hoping not to give away any clues to how the “dual” cold-cases are revisited—but there’s one for you, “dual.” Terry’s quest isn’t only about avenging his father but putting the woman behind bars for the cold-blooded murder of her husband. Simultaneously, Terry unravels a decades-old corruption ingrained in the elite community and unearths a “buried treasure” worth more to his family than a chest of gold.

Talk about a busy summer!

Like his protagonist, the author packed this thriller with more gems for the reader. He sprinkles in poignant moments where family bonds tighten and supporting characters become allies. Not to forget the envy-worthy moments that invite the reader into the vacation at this luxurious playground. Combining all the details with the breathtaking visuals nicely narrated and the heart-pounding moments of suspense, you’ll be glued to your seat until the very end!
