Book Craft With Pamela S Thibodeaux

Pamela S Thibodeaux is the Co-Founder of Bayou Writers Group in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and an award-winning author, life coach, and mentor. Her tagline, “Inspirational with an Edge!” ™ defines her life, writing, and coaching style.

What is your book craft? Writing * Editing * Coaching/Consulting *Interior Book Design * Website Design * Writing Courses *Promotion on my blog, which gets over 100K hits per month.

How did you get started offering these professional services? My skills, knowledge, and experience evolved over the years, and in 2002, I started a writer’s group in my hometown. While sharing my expertise with the members, I was encouraged many times to say, “You can make money doing this.” Although money wasn’t, and isn’t, my primary focus as much as being of service, I realized (with much instruction and encouragement) that, as the Bible says, “a person is worthy of his hire,” and what I know and teach is valuable. I’ve been doing professional writing for years, began editing over a decade ago, and worked as a marketing associate for a publishing company and a promotional firm, evolving my business from there. I’ve also been the publisher of an online magazine back in the day, which taught me a lot as well.

What fulfills you most about working with your clients? I love being a part of the creative process and celebrating with my clients as their dreams come true!

What is the ROI that your clients can look forward to by working with you? As an editor, interior book designer, or website designer, my clients’ ROI will be reflected in completed projects within a reasonable time frame, executed to the best of my ability to fulfill their vision. As for those who purchase ad space on my blog, many have reported better book rankings, trackable sales, and increased overall exposure. Folks who’ve taken my beginning writing course reported increased enthusiasm and a greater desire to complete their project(s).

What makes you and your services unique? I am a Life Coach and consultant, and, along with my publishing experience, I offer tips, tricks, and support to help clients overcome mental blocks and prepare for success.

Who is your ideal client? Someone who respects my experience and expertise, who doesn’t argue every little detail of my suggestions, and is willing to learn and grow from our working together.

What is one of your most memorable client engagements? Oh, my goodness, there have been so many! I have testimonials on my blog and website for different services. I guess the most memorable are those who go from ‘client’ to friend, and we remain in touch long after the project is/are complete.

How do you hold yourself accountable and achieve the goals that you set forth? I am an organized soul, but one thing I do is prioritize my clients’ work in my schedule. I’ve been known to let everything else slide by the wayside to finish a project.

How do you help your clients do the same? We set reasonable expectations and goals for the completion of their project. Because I make them a priority, I ask them not only to do the same for me, but also to prioritize themselves and their dreams.

What else would you like people to know about you? I am reasonable and flexible, especially when it comes to payment options. I am fair and willing to do my best to see your project through to the end. I have contacts for the things I don’t do (like book covers). Although I can’t guarantee it, I will share with you as much information as I can to help you succeed.
