But her secret identity is soon threatened when Sofia’s project attracts a few interesting engagements, especially from a guy who challenges Sofia at every turn. In time, the two adopt a mutual discord that her followers love. What Sofia doesn’t know is that this anonymous follower, the one she’s slowly falling for, is Alex Castillo, her bestie’s boyfriend.
This is a cute book with an adorable friends-to-lovers plot.
Hey, it’s current, relevant, and it can happen, but like any good book, it does have a happily-ever-after without the weird stalker vibe that’s so rampant in the real world. And it’s an impressive switch to contemporary from an author with a strong historical pedigree. I do love the nod to the author’s Mexican and Puerto Rican roots, coupled with her Latine leads and her focus on feminine empowerment. It would be helpful for readers to have some context for the Spanish words sprinkled throughout, but they don’t distract from the storyline.
In my opinion, it’s a book to be enjoyed by all ages from young adults on up. It’s light, cute, and breezy, making it a great summer romance read.
