One Season with the Duke

Fans of the genre will adore this well-written and entertaining historical romance. One Season with the Duke by Addy du Lac offers fresh spins, deeply dimensional characters, and an intriguing conclusion.

Heiress Henrietta Monfort has a secret.

Raised by her aunt and uncle after the tragic death of her parents, she believed her reputation-crushing truth would never come to light. But her cousin, set on making Hettie his wife and her wealth his own, threatens to share “the truth” with the ton. Unless she agrees to marry him, he will divulge that she is illegitimate and end her life as she knows it. Devastated and not willing to hurt her aunt and uncle, she gives into his blackmailing and agrees.  But when Lord Findley Lachlann Yves, her long-lost childhood friend, reappears, he senses her fear and offers an out. Finn wishes to marry her, take her to his home in Scotland, and live anew as his Duchess. Ahhhh, let the romance begin.

I love Hettie’s character.

She is genre-appropriately demure, with an incredibly selfless heart. But this is no shrinking violet. Full of spirit, she’ll fight for what’s right and, even at the risk of love, refuses to be dismissed or disrespected.

A must-read for fans of historical romance.
