Optimize: A Groundbreaking 7 Step Plan to Health and Longevity Through Quantum Biology
If you love science and mining ways to improve your life, Optimize by Dr. Catherine Clinton needs to be on your reading list.
Let’s start with what makes Dr. Clinton the ideal author for the intersection of quantum biology and health. She’s the founder of the Quantum Biology Health Institute, a licensed naturopathic physician and educator with a successful history of helping patients optimize and boost immunity through unique reconnections with one’s environment.
Her book is thought-provoking, insightful, and packed with cutting-edge research.
However, it reads like a textbook. Not necessarily too challenging to grasp, but be prepared to go into deep detail about the way our bodies operate, all the way down to the microbiology level. But that’s important because it attracts readers who want a deeper understanding of why they should embrace the notion of quantum biology for overall wellness.
She addresses topics such as water, light, electricity, magnetism, coherence, resonance, and sound, and dedicates chapters to those topics. But it isn’t metaphysical. It’s science. And I appreciate how each chapter goes in depth, explaining why these elements are essential to our health, where they come from, how they are activated, and why they matter.
My key takeaway was why these elements are essential and how you can “optimize” them.
Because the reader can get bogged down by the science, and unless you’re into that, or unless you’re willing to invest in the understanding of the why, you might wonder, are we getting to any type of action items here? Well, yes, you will. Specifically, Dr. Clinton answers the questions: How do you nurture this element to help you, and what are the things you need to do regularly to help your body stay stronger?
Let’s take water, for example. Obviously, water is essential to health, but what kind of water is best, how do you integrate it (not just consumption), and which sources are most important? She addresses interesting areas I didn’t realize mattered, such as how sound affects the immune microbiome in our bodies. I also appreciate the overarching theme of aligning with the ecosystem to improve health.
It’s a hefty book, roughly 260 pages, with a nice index and contents so you can look up where the research comes from and where to go for more. For that reason, I plan to pull this book off the shelf and reference it often. With compelling research, expertise, and unique content, I would recommend this book to all readers, especially those interested in longevity and the steps to enhance their neurology, cellular health, and immune system.
