6 Picks: Books Inspiring Imagination (and Offering Proof) of Other Worlds

Do you believe other worlds are out there? Perhaps inhabited by aliens, mystical creatures, angels, or anything else beyond ones wildest imagination? I sometimes feel that theres another world much closer to us than a distant galaxy. Sometimes an odd feeling like being tapped on the shoulder or talked to in a dream is more real to me than imagined. A dark, cloaked figure is observing us from between the living room walls, a furry friend who communicates in canine speak, or a collective mist that takes the shape of a message is confirmation enough of other worlds for me.

What about you? Are sci-fi stories more fact than fiction? Who knows? (Cue eerie music.) If you were to imagine another world, what would it be like? I look forward to your fantastical ideas. Speaking of ideas, here are six books inspiring possibilities (and some offering proof) of other worlds.

Alien Earths: The New Science of Planet Hunting in the Cosmos by Dr. Lisa Kaltenegger. Founding director of Cornell Universitys Carl Sagan Institute, Kaltenegger and her team explore the age-old question of life beyond Earth. She uses historic evidence and science fiction to inspire research and exact evidence of possible alien existence.

Moving Through Parallel Worlds to Achieve Your Dreams: The Epic Guide to Unlimited Power by Kevin L. Michel. This author is an expert on tapping into your subconscious and his book Moving Through Parallel Worlds demonstrates how one can use quantum physics to break through limited reality into another dimension. But thats not all, Michel explains this strategy is known, and has been utilized, by many a great mind to achieve wealth, success, awareness, and improved health. Pretty powerful stuff. According to the author, This very night, you shall be reading and then applying the concepts in this book, and that moment will be the starting point of your mastery of wealth, romance, creation, and mastery of all things in the physical world.

The Future of Humanity: Our Destiny in the Universe by Michio Kaku. For some time now, Ive been fanning over Michio Kaku. After watching all episodes of Ancient Aliens, I kind of got hooked on this physicist and futurists wisdom, wit, and way. His book explores how science—robotics, nanotechnology, biotechnology—can be leveraged to develop a sustainable civilization in space. The book is also packed with thought-provoking proof and theories about parallel universes, the multiverse, and possible immortality.

Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth Hardcover by Avi Loeb. The Frank B. Baird Jr. Professor of Science at Harvard University and Director of the Institute for Theory and Computation at the Center for Astrophysics gives Loeb more than enough street cred. to give credence that our solar system was recently visited by advanced alien technology from a distant star. A spotted alien object soaring through our solar system is the root of this book, explaining how the elements surrounding this invasion can only be explained as advanced technology created by a distant civilization.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Universe by Jorge Cham and Daniel Whiteson. This is a fascinating read appealing to all ages. With clever illustrations and easy-to-understand explanations, this book by researcher-turned-cartoonist and physics professor answers science questions for the curious. It would make for an interesting twist in a book club and an excellent read and discussion at home or in the classroom. Parents, this is the perfect book to help you answer all of the why” questions your children pose. As the reviewer states,If the universe came with an FAQ, this would be it.”

Proof of Angels: The Definitive Book on the Reality of Angels and the Surprising Role They Play in Each of Our Lives by Ptolemy Tompkins, Tyler Beddoes, and Colleen Hughes. With a more spiritual bent, this book provides witness testimonies of angels on Earth walking among us. But its by no means fiction. Rather it delves into this fascinating phenomenon offering proof of life where angels have interceded on behalf of humans. Opening the conversation of spirituality meets science, the three authors challenge the readers imagination and spark eye-opening consideration of whats behind the impossible rescue, unexplainable sensation, or a simple tap on the shoulder.”
