Hi, I’m Kimberly, author, literary agent, and host of Books Uplift. I create resources to support authors, uplift readers, and celebrate the life-changing power of books.

In my former corporate career, I led teams and supported professionals’ success as a human resources director, licensed counselor, career consultant, and coach. Now, I’m focusing full-time on my creative career, spanning three decades and encompassing roles as a magazine contributing editor, a decade-long reviewer for School Library Journal, published author, publicity assistant at Severn River Publishing, and an associate literary agent with The Purcell Agency.

I am also a traditionally published author with Chicago Review Press and Highsmith/Upstart. I write Children’s Books,  Adult Fiction and Career Books.

My Children’s book, Organic Crafts, was featured in US Magazine when it was given to actress Julia Roberts as a gift for her baby shower and referenced in the best-selling book, Pregnant with the Stars.

I’ve authored over 300 articles for local and national magazines, including Forbes, Five Owls, LifeHack, Medium, CareerBuilder, MSN Careers, WorkBuzz, Chicago Parent, and Family Time Magazine, covering topics such as publishing, personal success, and pets. 

Active member of the Authors’ Guild, Romance Writers of America, Mystery Writers of America, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators; founding leader of the Chicago Northern Suburbs Chapter.
