Those who know of Kathy Ireland most likely know her for her business mogul, supermodel status and gracing the cover of numerous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues. But what many may not know is how devout she is as a Christian. In fact, many of the challenges she’s faced in her line of work have challenged her faith. But she’s stayed true to her walk with God, turning down multiple opportunities that opposed her beliefs.

When asked by the editors at Doubleday to share her story and faith-filled lessons with her fans, she wavered, uncertain about her qualifications. When she realized the eight powerful lessons in this book were divine, she decided to take the leap and become a vessel of His Word.

I admit, I bought this book just after it was published in 2001 to satisfy my curiosity about what Kathy Ireland could share about Christianity.

Her humble stories and thoughtful approach to her interpretations of relevant Bible verses impressed me.

More than that, I became a fan of the woman, entrepreneur, model, and mother, who is just as sweet on the inside as she is on the outside. Corny as that sounds, the soft-spoken author offers a raw, untarnished take on scripture and how her eight compelling inspirations can be applied in everyday life. The goal is to honor everyone’s struggle and provide a gentle reminder of what matters most in this life.
