Dee Walters is living in Northern Nevada with her youngest son, workings as an emergency response dispatcher, and writing in her spare time. Her mission is to help individuals with grief and other personal issues they may face. Dee is a compassionate person who authors books to help as many people as possible. You are an author, but is it your day job? If not, what fills your days? My day job is being an emergency response dispatcher and writing in my spare time.
Did you always want to be an author? Yes, I also have poems published from years ago.
What is your most recent book and what inspired you to write it? Healing the Broken Heart: Navigating Grief and Loss After the Death of a Child and the loss of my son made me realize that I can help other grieving parents with the steps I took to help myself.
How do you hope your book uplifts those who read it? I hope to show grieving parents that there are other ways to honor their children and help them see how there is a deep love beyond just their grief.
What are you most excited about with this book? I am excited to help those who are having a challenging time during this dark period in their lives. The ways that they can deal with their grief.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to succeed in your professional industry? My advice is to never give up, no matter how hard it can be.
How do you handle setbacks and criticism? One must take the challenges head on and keep moving forward.
How do you hold yourself accountable and achieve the goals that you set forth? I just keep moving forward regardless of any obstacles that get in my way.
What do you find most fulfilling in the career that you’ve chosen? I find that helping people deal with issues in their own lives very fulfilling.
Anything else you’d like to share with your readers? Although this book is written by Dee Walters, she also created The Self-Help Hub with books published to help people with PTSD and Single Parenting. There are more books to come with regards to dealing with personal issues in their lives.
