What is your most recent book and what inspired you to write it? My newest book is So Close and it is a departure for me, this is my first foray into Psychological Thriller. My themes are always survival and unconditional acceptance, showing how survivors build defense mechanisms that alter how they interact with the world, then how they eventually recognize those defenses and the triggers that engage them, and work to either heal or double-down. I wanted to explore these themes beyond the romance genre, which is where I usually write.

How do you hope your book uplifts those who read it? I want readers to remember how they felt while reading, how taken they were with the prose, and to immediately want to re-read the book because they want to find all the clues they missed during the first read.

What are you most excited about with this book? I get excited about writing strong women because that’s what I know. Every woman in my inner circle is strong, determined, and ambitious, from my mother to my sister to all my closest friends. I instill in my characters traits that I admire because I have to spend a lot of time with them.

What book uplifts you? I love Nalini Singh, Patricia Briggs, Linda Howard, Julie Garwood, Shelby Reed, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and so many more! As a reader, I enjoy commercial fiction of all genres, and I hop around a lot depending on my mood.
