Berkley: A Nose Tale

Berkley: A Nose Tale

Berkley’s a basset hound with a shockingly big nose. While Berkley doesn’t mind it—it allows him to inhale scents he likes such as smelly socks—his unusual snout seems to a bit of a nuisance for his owner Jeremy. That is until Berkley’s special gift helps Jeremy’s friend Becky when she needs it most.

I absolutely love the illustrations of Berkley and his friends in this adorable picture book written and illustrated by David Hillman. And who doesn’t love a book that evokes an emotional response—and this one definitely does! Finally, while this message has been told before, anytime a child (and their caregiver) is reminded that we may not always welcome the gifts that we are blessed with, they make us special. And like Berkley, if we embrace them we will realize that we were given these gifts for a purpose.
