The editors at Paraclete Press put together a heartwarming collection of holiday-related classics in this beautifully presented book. The images, photographs, and artwork are breathtaking (you know I’m a visual gal), but where they found such a plethora of Christmas content is a magical mystery.
There are stories you know, songs you’ve sung, poems you’ve read, accompanied by a bounty of novel content.
I imagine it’s up to the reader to decide what’s familiar, what’s part of your holiday tradition, and what’s new and uplifting. This book reminds me of Ideals Magazine, published by Hachette Group, but One Great Love is Christian-themed and Advent-related.
This collective begs to be part of your Christmas traditions, to read or sing-aloud on the days leading up to the holidays or perhaps the foundation for a discussion group or a beautiful gift for a friend who appreciates elegant customs. If you place it on your coffee table, as I have, you’ll also find many guests picking it up and perusing it with a smile.
One Great Love is fitting for all who wish to keep the season’s true spirit alive—a perfect source of holiday hope.
