Winter Wellbeing: Seasonal Self-Care to Nourish, Sustain, and Warm Your Soul

Winter Wellbeing: Seasonal Self-Care to Nourish, Sustain, and Warm Your Soul

As a child, I loved winter. As an adult, not so much. Colds, snow-driving, slippery sidewalks, and frigid temperatures take on a new meaning when youre in the middle. So why do I live up north? There are many reasons, most of which center around employment. Im here, and so is winter. Ho-hum. Thats why Im constantly challenging myself to embrace it and I am always looking for gentle reminders to appreciate what this season has to offer. Winter Wellbeing by Cico Books came along right when I needed it.

I happened upon this book while browsing new stock in my local bookstore.

The cover is inviting, and the premise—well, who doesnt want to find ways to stay warm, happy, and healthy during winter? After a cursory glance, I was hooked. I even bought a copy for my dear friend (who wishes for a swift winter season). Together, we share our takeaways and insights.

This isnt a book filled with incredibly novel ideas.

However, theres just something about the imagery, suggestions, recipes, and reminders that serve as comforting ministrations. The photographs are breathtaking, challenging the reader to think twice about winter. The impetus here is to re-examine the positive elements of winter and explore new ways to embrace its beauty and seasonal offerings. Along with the emotionally restorative natural suggestions, youll find recipes, tonics, exercises, skincare ideas, rituals, and holistic therapies designed to help you thrive in the colder months.

The photographs and instructional content are clean, simple, refreshing, and inspiring. A one-page read is all you need to change your disposition. And if youre searching for a host present, something to share over the holidays, or a quiet I care about you” token for someone who struggles through winter, Winter Wellbeingmakes the perfect gift.
